In Escaflowne, It shows us what's on the other side of the moon, it's like a mythical fantasy world of some sort because the world is filled more the presence of "god"/ether/ambient energy and supposedly this is what our world was like prehistory. Then when the portal opens all that shit in that world and the great waters above will pour into this world turning our world into a crazy lord of the rings/Fallout mad max wasteland like in world but then gradually becoming more lord of the rings-ish. And if you combine this with what we learned about jay's plasma apocalypse then it's possible god/jesus is going to enter this world in the form of plasma, an electromagnetic event that will scorch the world in fire and purge 99% of the wicked population, whilst also opening a portal that will all sorts of crazy beings and entities to dwell in this world that will only allow the most purehearted and lucky to make in it in the world.
Now what exactly this future world is going to be like is what I really want to know. But it literally will be a doomsday scenario,. What else is fire is going to do? Tickle people? It will be a great beautiful thing but in order for the change to happen, great destruction must take place. There are multiple angles and perspectives to this. It is incredibly hellish and devastating but also simultaneously beautiful joyous and heavenly. Billions will die, continents will be reshaped, and there will be untold suffering. This is not fear porn, this is just how things will be and it is optional to extract fear from it or that idea that it is propaganda to scare us.

I suspect the flesh and worms within will sure give us a lot of pain as the fire from above melts them away. So yeah i think it will look ugly but if we're truly souls/fire like yoda revealed we'll be glad seeing us free from the flesh and its worms and the whole earth purified from them.
